Free Gear!

BAWT now has THREE gear library locations in its equipment loan system, making outdoor gear available FREE to youth workers trained by BAWT. In Spring 2007 BAWT added its Milpitas and Presidio (CAP only) gear room locations.

How to get the gear:

1. First, you need to take either the Wilderness Leadership Training course or the Camping at the Presidio Program's Outdoor Leadership Training.
2. Then when you begin planning your trips with youth, fax in our equipment request form, letting us know what your requesting and when.
3. We’ll get back to you to confirm your request and time to pick it up.

Making a Reservation:

While we do have a growing supply of equipment - enough to outfit sixty backpackers at any given time - the further ahead of time you complete an equipment request form, the better. This is especially true in our busiest months: June, July, and August.

Please fill out the appropriate spreadsheet and email it to the program team (chelsea@bawt.org, karen@bawt.org, and cisco@bawt.org). In the subject line please put “SF” or “Milpitas” “Gear Request Form” your name and the date you want to pick up the gear.
